  12.         This freeware version of the TIMEFLYS program is dedicated to 
  13.         the memory of those men of the North and South who battled at 
  14.         Gettysburg in July of 1863.  Their extraordinary valor and 
  15.         sacrifice remind us of the greatness upon which this country 
  16.         was built.

  19.         ABOUT THE PROGRAM  -  Very simple design but sophisticated
  20.         =================     ------------------------------------
  21.         TIMEFLYS is a program which tracks and reminds you of 
  22.         US holidays as well as other national observances including
  23.         St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Daylight Savings Time start/end,
  24.         Fathers/Mothers Day, and the start of seasons.
  25.  
  26.         The reminders "pop up" on your screen 11, 4, and 1 day(s) 
  27.         before a holiday or observance, as well as on the day itself.
  28.  
  29.         The power of TIMEFLYS lies in the fact that it automatically
  30.         calculates the dates for "fixed day" holidays (i.e. those that
  31.         fall on the same *day* every year) as well as Easter (which is
  32.         based on the moon's cycle).

  34.         TIMEFLYS is NOT a TSR program so there are no memory issues to
  35.         be concerned about, but your system date must be set correctly.

  37.         A Canadian version of this program is also in release.  It gives
  38.         reminders of Canadian holidays in addition to US holidays.

  41.         USING THE PROGRAM  
  42.         =================  
  43.         This program is 21st-Century-ready and is Windows-compatible.
  44.         Simply entering  TIMEFLYS  at the DOS prompt will produce a screen
  45.         which gives a brief description of the program and the command-line
  46.         parameter to have it check for events, which is:
  47.  
  48.         TIMEFLYS /C     This will cause  TIMEFLYS  to Check for upcoming
  49.                         events.  This essentially "runs" the program the
  50.                         way it will normally be used.
  51.  
  52.                  NOTE:  The INSTALL program will give you the option of
  53.                         automatically adding the TIMEFLYS/C line to your
  54.                         AUTOEXEC.BAT file, which will result in the program
  55.                         automatically checking for upcoming holidays each 
  56.                         time you turn your computer on.

  61.         THE v2.0 UPGRADE  -  "Set it and forget it" software
  62.         ================     -------------------------------
  63.         The 2.0 version of the TIMEFLYS program allows you to enter 
  64.         your own annual events, such as birthdays or anniversaries, or
  65.         other recurring annual special occasions, or any one-time occasion
  66.         or appointment that you can't afford to miss.
  67.  
  68.         The number of the event is also given if the user enters the 
  69.         first year of the event.  For example, if the year is entered 
  70.         with a birthdate, the person's upcoming age will be displayed 
  71.         with the reminder.  This feature is also useful for anniversaries.

  73.         Easy to use menus and prompts guide you through adding, changing, 
  74.         and deleting events.  There is also a menu selection for printing a 
  75.         list of events.

  118.         Here are a few other shareware and freeware offerings available
  119.         from numerous on-line sources (see below):

  122.      EZY-D   A command-line dialer that uses your modem to dial
  123.              telephone or digital pager calls.  The telephone 
  124.              number(s) are passed to the program as command-line 
  125.              parameters which means it can be use to set up menu
  126.              items such as "Page Ralph" or "Call Norton", or used
  127.              in batch files to place unattended pager calls in 
  128.              response to system or application events (ex: when a 
  129.              virus is detected during an unattended virus check).  
  130.              It sends the number to be displayed on the pager after 
  131.              a brief delay (which can be overridden with a parameter) 
  132.              and terminates automatically.  It features auto-modem-
  133.              locate and optional user prompting for either or both 
  134.              phone numbers.  Distributed as fully functional shareware.  
  135.              Registration fee is $8.

  138.      WEZY-D  The Windows version of EZY-D, this program allows you to
  139.              page or call someone just by double-clicking on their icon.
  140.              It can be set to "Run Minimized" so you can immediately 
  141.              return to work while the call is being placed.  Distributed 
  142.              as fully-functional shareware.  Registration fee is $8.

  145.      COMDOG  A utility which sniffs out modems hooked to, or configured as, 
  146.              PC COM ports.  The modem port numbers are then displayed on 
  147.              the screen.  Distributed as Freeware.

  150.      AUTOHB  A colorful, musical, birthday greeting that displays a
  151.              birthday cake while playing the "Happy Birthday" song through
  152.              the PC speaker and displaying the lyrics in various colors.  
  153.              The birthday person's name is passed to the program (for  
  154.              display in the lyrics) through the DOS environment, which is 
  155.              entered using the DOS SET command.  It will also check for an 
  156.              optional birthdate in the environment and only run if it 
  157.              matches the current date.  Useful in Novell networked 
  158.              environments by using the DOS SET login script command.

  163.         1995.  (Most are available now, depending on the service).  They
  164.         are submitted to CompuServe, America On-Line, and the SimTel Coast-

  166.         the Internet, accessible via ftp.  Their primary mirror site is
